Our artistic products are LOUD. A celebration of language, color, and shape, they aim to pull attention and honor the ordinary through historical examination and resistant abstraction. To do this, they highlight words and ideas typically used to harm, silence, diminish, or oppress--concepts often considered offensive or crude, but which surround and impact us all, every day, at every level of existence. In LOUD art, these terms are reclaimed--stripped of their negative meanings and redefined to empower the individuals they traditionally harm. Despite this, caution is advised for very young or sensitive viewers.

Artist Statement
Hey there. I’m A. Scalo. My art uses shape, line, language, color, and texture to explore humanity, identity, culture, and process. Embracing error in my work, I examine and critique ideas of perfection and challenge oppressive systems through feministic methods and messages.
In other words, I do a bunch of things that bring me joy to try and fight hate. Woot woot.
